Rental Terms & Conditions

Guidelines and legal framework governing vehicle hire, driver responsibilities, payments, and road usage with Primecarrental.

Please read these Rental Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully. By submitting a reservation or signing a rental agreement with Primecarrental ("the Company"), the renter ("Renter" or "You") agrees to abide by all stipulations outlined below.

1. Driver Eligibility & Licensing Requirements

Minimum Age: The standard minimum rental age is 21 years old. Drivers aged 21 to 24 are eligible for Economy, Compact, and Sedan categories. Drivers hiring Premium or SUV categories must be at least 25 years old.
License Validity: The primary driver and any authorized secondary drivers must hold a valid, unrestricted driver's license held for at least 12 consecutive months. Provisional (P-plate) or learner permits are not accepted.
Overseas Licenses: An International Driving Permit (IDP) or an accredited NAATI English translation must accompany any driver’s license not written in the English alphabet.

2. Security Deposits & Payment in AUD

All rental rates, add-on fees, and deposits are quoted and settled in Australian Dollars (AUD, A$).
A refundable pre-authorisation security deposit is held on the primary driver's credit or debit card at key collection and released within 5–10 business days following post-rental vehicle inspection.
Accepted payment methods include major credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express).

3. Fuel Policy (Full-to-Full)

Vehicles are handed over with a full tank of specified fuel (Unleaded or Premium Petrol) and must be returned with a full tank. If returned partially filled, refuelling is charged at local service station rates plus a standard refuelling service charge.

4. Collection, Return & Overdue Protocols

Inspection: Both parties perform a visual inspection at collection to record pre-existing vehicle condition and odometer readings.
Grace Period: A 29-minute return grace period applies. Vehicles returned beyond the grace period without prior written approval will be charged standard daily rates plus late administration charges.
Extensions: Rental extensions must be requested at least 24 hours in advance and are subject to fleet availability confirmation.

5. Sydney Motorway Tolls

All vehicles are registered for electronic cashless tolling across Sydney and NSW motorways. Toll trips recorded during the hire period will be billed directly to the Renter's nominated payment card at official motorway authority rates.

6. Geographic Restrictions & Prohibited Uses

The vehicle must NOT be operated:

On unsealed roads, gravel trails, off-road tracks, beaches, or flooded causeways.
Under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or prescribed medication impairing driving ability.
For commercial rideshare, courier conveyance, or racing/speed trials.
By any individual not registered as an authorized driver on the rental contract.

7. Optional Extras & Additional Services

Optional equipment (such as baby seats at A$12/day, GPS units at A$8/day, and additional driver coverage at A$10/day) are billed separately from base car tariffs and subject to availability.

Demonstration Notice: These terms are representative conditions for Primecarrental (primecarrental.net). Individual rental contracts are executed upon formal vehicle allocation and reservation confirmation.
